Geosense have devised semi-automatic routines to enhance
the NEXTMap Britain product using stereo aerial photography from Getmapping
plc. The end results are clearly defined buildings with sub-metre height accuracies.
They are supplied as 3D models to be used on top of the NEXTMap DTM, or applied
to the DTM and DSM datasets for aerial photography and other datasets to be
draped over. Building models are invaluable for a wide variety of applications
including telecommunications, noise pollution monitoring, town planning, risk
analysis and 3D visualisation.
