Historical maps are a valuable source of information, detailing how our environment has changed over the years even centuries to the present day. It can help define contaminated land, locate buildings that no longer exist, show historical boundaries and old transport networks that have long disappeared or changed over time.

All maps are scanned at high resolution and georectified to modern standards. Therefore, surveying inaccuracies at the time the map was produced are removed as much as possible.
