Geo / Orthorectification
In order to extract geographical information from the satellite imagery, Geosense undertakes a number of processing steps prior to analysis including correction of the imagery using ground control points (GCPs) from the best available mapping or GPS.

Satellite data from Ground Stations come in various formats and pre-processed to different levels to correct for radiometric and geometric distortions. Geosense load and convert the digital data for use in our image processing software. The data is georectified using either ground control points or satellite derived corner coordinates (ephemeris data) into the required geographic coordinate projection system for your project. Alternatively the imagery can be orthorectified (see Photogrammetry) using a Digital Terrain or Elevation Model (DTM or DEM).
