Teatro Colon
As part of extensive modernisation of the theatre demolition and deep excavations for a new stage tower, halls and services for Teatro Colón were necessary.
The original theatre is situated within a dense urban area and the priority was to minimise the negative impact that the construction might have on its fragile, historic surroundings. The project involved the careful connection of two very dissimilar building forms, as well as the reinforcement of the pedestrian Calle 11 and the consolidation of the back of Bogotá´s cathedral.
