Geosense to exhibit at this month’s Geo-Congress 2024 in Vancouver

Leading providers of geotechnical instrumentation, Geosense, have announced they will be exhibiting at this month’s Geo-Congress 2024.

The conference, which is organised by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), is being held in Vancouver, Canada, from 25th to 28th of February.

Geosense will be at the event to showcase their products and expertise and contribute to this year’s theme of ‘Bridging government, industry and academia for resilient mega-communities’.

“This is an exciting event with an important focus on the topic of resilience. Resilience is often developed by modifying an approach when an environment changes. Data from our sensors allow for engineers to understand how their assets behave and get ahead of any changes that need to be made.” Tim Clegg, Managing Director of Geosense.

The US-organised event is being hosted outside the USA for the first time ever, in the capital city of British Columbia, Canada.

Geo-Congress 2024 promises a comprehensive program, including technical sessions, lectures and short courses that will showcase the latest research, innovative practices and insights from international thought leaders and experts.

The organisers believe Geo-Congress 2024 is an opportunity to be part of a transformative movement that seeks to build resilient mega-communities for generations to come.

“In an era marked by rapid urbanisation, climate change and increasing population density, the resilience of our mega-communities has never been more critical. The theme of Geo-Congress 2024 calls upon us to harness collective expertise to develop innovative solutions that can withstand and adapt to the evolving landscape of our world” states Geo-Congress’ Conference Chair, Menzer Pehlivan.

Geosense’s Chris Morrison and Kenny Campbell will be on the firm’s exhibition stand to talk about how the British company’s sensors can be used to help make large buildings, structures and other assets more resilient.

Geosense is a highly respected manufacturer and supplier of instrumentation used in the geotechnical, civil engineering, mining and environmental industries. Their products are used in more than 80 countries, for projects including infrastructure projects, tunnelling, dams, mining and constructing bridges.

Geosense have particular expertise in vibrating wire and MEMS sensors, which measure factors including subterranean water levels and pressures, and the inclination and movement of ground.

In 2022, Geosense won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

Geosense will be exhibiting on stand 520 at the event at Vancouver Convention Centre on 25th to 28th February.
