Wireless system LUL approvedAug 13th, 2018
Geosense, in partnership with Barcelona-based Worldsensing, has secured approval from London Underground Limited (LUL) for the use of its Wi-SOS 480 range of wireless data acquisition in deep tube tunnels.
“We are very pleased to have received LUL approval for the Wi-SOS equipment. It has been a long time in the making, but we are very grateful for the support from Worldsensing during the approval process”, said Martin Clegg, Managing Director of Geosense.
“The approval is especially significant with upcoming projects and given the consistent investment in rail infrastructure in the capital. We hope that the approval opens up the benefits of the proven Wi-SOS system to all LUL projects.”
The system has passed LUL requirements for fire safety and electromagnetic compatibility and minimises cable runs for asset monitoring of tunnels and shafts. It comprises a central gateway and individual nodes (dataloggers) which can be connected to a wide range of sensors measuring tilt, pressure, load and displacement. The data is sent via long-range 868mhz radio to the gateway where it can be accessed or forwarded for data visualisation.
