Inclinometer Casing XC

Back

An access tube which is installed within a borehole, ground or a structure to allow a portable or In-place inclinometer to measure a profile.

In addition it can be used with magnetic or inductive targets spaced along its length to measure settlement as well as rotation.

The external joint means that the casing can be cut to any length on site making it more versatile than the QC type but requires glue, rivets and tape for installation.

Typical applications include monitoring:

  • Slope failures and landslides
  • Shear and slip zones
  • Diaphragm or sheet pile walls
  • Retaining walls
  • Bending in piles
  • The performance of struts and ground anchors
  • Dams
  • Ground movement due to tunnelling operations
  • Verifying design assumptions
